How to Share Your Mission in the Media!

The press and media play a significant role in how we consume and digest news stories from around the globe, whether it’s positive or negative news.

All celebrities and public figures work with the media to elevate their personal and business brands, some use if for good, while others use it for pure self gain.

My question to you as an entrepreneur is, why aren’t you working with the media to help you grow your business?

There are thousands of charities, small businesses and companies around the world working with the media to share their good news stories and missions with the world and create positive movements.

You may feel your business isn’t exciting enough to get media coverage but if you are running your business, you’re doing it for a reason. You are on a mission to make a difference in the world and help provide a solution to the problems your target audience is facing.

Right now there are people waiting for your services and don’t know where to turn to get help. They are asking people if they now anyone that can help, they are searching online for products, programmes and services that can help them…but they can’t find you because you’re not visible, they don’t know you exist!

Getting good publicity for your business doesn’t have to be hard, although at a glance it may seem complicated or overwhelming it’s not.

You and your business have a goldmine of news stories that can help you build your brand but it’s your responsibility to slow down and take time to discover how you can leverage them to take your business to the next level.

The truth is people want to watch, listen and read positive, uplifting news stories that inspire and motivate them to improve their life, business or work, or simply realise the possibilities waiting to be explored by them. You can contribute to that through your work.

Having PR as a core part of your business and marketing strategy is essential to the growth of your business. Working with the media allows you to reach your audience in a bigger way than is possible through email marketing, social media and traditional marketing channels. You have the opportunity to reach thousands, even millions with your message through national, even international media outlets.

If growing your business is a priority for you right now, a great action step you can take in the next 24 hours to think about:

  1. What potential news stories do you have that could raise your business profile?
  2. Who needs to hear your message and why should they care about it?
  3. What would securing media coverage mean for your business?

You don’t need to be a big global brand or a well known charity to get into the media, you just need good news stories that share your knowledge and experiences in a way that people care about.
